The Rivers State Government has accused the All Progressives Congress of being the cause of the disturbance witnessed yesterday in Opobo town during the party’s campaign.
Commissioner for information in the State Chris Finebone in a statement yesterday, said the APC had attempted to use a government facility without complying with the requirements as set out by law.
According to Finebone local Government officials had gone to enforce the law when thugs allegedly loyal to the APC took over the venue of the rally throwing stones, bottles at the council officials which led to sporadic shootings by security operatives.
