Former Chief of Staff, Rivers State Government House, Tony Okocha has reacted to claims by some members of the All Progressives Congress that they are not aware of any agreement reached by its founding fathers on the issue of presidency in 2023.
Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi had during an interview said he is not aware of any agreement reached between President Buhari, Ahmed Tinubu and Bisi Akande on who flies the party’s presidential flag in 2023.
But, Okocha in a statement at the weekend, said those who claim not to be aware of the agreement may be right but should not push the narrative where they met and joined the party.
He said APC was formed on February 6, 2021 and Rivers State embraced the party a year later.
His statement reads,
APC was birthed on the 6th of February, 2013.Rivers State embraced the New Party in April, 2014, ( One clear year Apart). All the Nation~Wide mobilisations were spearhead by GMB, BAT and Akande. The trio and their accolades traversed through the nooks and crannies of Nigeria, through BAT’s Private Jet.
Who can or should convince you that there were no agreements reached?
I speak with certainty as an insider not guessing.
Those who claim not to know of any agreement between these three Founding Fathers, may be right but should not push the narrative beyond where they met and joined the Party.
