The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, led by Chief Emeka Beke, has called on Governor Siminalayi Fubara to urgently convene a stakeholders’ meeting of the party to provide direction and strengthen internal cohesion.
The party said the proposed meeting had become necessary, especially following recent clarifications regarding the leadership of the APC in the state.
he call was contained in a statement issued on Friday in Port Harcourt by the APC State Publicity Secretary of the Emeka Beke–led faction, Mr Dalington Nwauju, and made available to journalists.
According to the statement, a stakeholders’ meeting would help unify party members and align them with the recognised leadership structure of the APC in Rivers State.
he appeal comes on the heels of remarks by the Presidential Spokesman, Mr Daniel Bwala, who stated during a live television programme on Thursday that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu recognises every sitting governor as the leader of his party in their respective states, whether the governor belongs to the ruling All Progressives Congress or the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
