There are reports that Nigeria’s former President, Goodluck Jonathan has informed the ruling All Progressives Congress that he would join the presidential race on their platform only if he was assured of being made the consensus candidate.
This Day reports that a reliable source noted that Jonathan made this known during a meeting with the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Adamu, on Tuesday.
It was gathered that revelation from the meeting contributed in the extension of the sale of the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms to Thursday May 12, 2022.
Recall, that a Northern Group had obtained the Presidential Form of the ruling party for the Otueke born politician.
However, Jonathan in a statement described the development as embarrassing, and rejected the offer.
