The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State and some civil servants have expressed dissatisfaction with the performance of the state’s Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral (Rtd.) Ibok Ete Ibas, six months after he assumed office.
APC spokesperson in the state, Darlington Nwauju, accused Ibas of failing in all sectors, alleging that Rivers had degenerated from its “Garden City” status to a “Garbage City” under his watch.
Some civil servants also claimed that the emergency rule had worsened their living conditions, arguing that no sector of the state was functioning effectively. They further alleged irregular payment of salaries, which they said had forced many workers to live from hand to mouth.
