The state chairman of the Rivers State All Progressive Congress chapter, Chief Emeka Beke has stated that the party is a peaceful one and does not like violence. He said this at Thursday’s governorship campaign rally in PHALGA.
Chief Beke thanked the teeming supporters of Tonye Cole and the APC in PHALGA for resisting attempts by some yet to be identified thugs who tried to stop them for using the Ojukwu Field, venue for the governorship campaign.
“I thank PHALGA people, you have proven a point that you can resist them. Any man who want violence should go to the trailer park and die. APC does not like violence” he said.
Chief Beke says Governor Wike and his people are scared. He accused the governor of wanting to do third tenure.
“He wants to do third tenure, does he father own Rivers State, do he know when Rivers State was created?” he asked the cheering party faithfuls.
He directed the party medical team to take care of all those who sustain injuries during the fracas. He also encouraged Rivers people to come out on the elections day and vote for all APC candidates.
Chief. Victor Giadom, a National Vice Chairman, South South of the party says the PDP are only being afraid and should know they are not afraid of them.
“They are shooting because they don’t want us to gather, tell them to buy more bullets because what they shot today is small and cannot scare us” he said.
Speaking at the event earlier, the Director General of the Cole/Barikor Campaign Council, Ibinabo Micheal West says when their principal is elected they will train ten thousand Rivers youths on special skills and as a corollary, narrow the unemployment rate and take Rivers people off the streets.
On his part, the senatorial candidate of the APC for Rivers South, Engr. Ndubuisi Nwankwo spoke on behalf of the other National and state House of Assembly candidates promised to effectively represent the people and support developmental projects in PHALGA.
