The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State says it is prepared to participate in the forthcoming local government elections slated for August 30.
Factional Chairman of the party, Tony Okocha, made this known in a statement following a stakeholders’ meeting on Monday involving the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), political parties, and other key actors.
RSIEC during the meeting postponed the elections from August 9 to August 30, amid criticisms from some quarters questioning the legality of the planned council polls.
