The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has condemned the ongoing protests against the state’s sole administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (Rtd), alleging they are being orchestrated by suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
In a statement released Monday, factional APC state chairman Chief Tony Okocha claimed that the protests, which he described as “unending” and “sponsored,” are a calculated effort by Fubara and his allies to destabilize the state.
“Despite efforts to restore peace and stability in Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara and his allies continue to sponsor protests against the Sole Administrator and the Government of Rivers State,” Okocha said.
The APC warned that the demonstrations undermine the ongoing attempts to return calm to the troubled state and threaten the authority of the sole administrator.
