The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused opposition politicians of using President Bola Tinubu’s state of emergency proclamation to incite unrest in the country.
In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC urged Nigerians to disregard what it described as “roving opposition opportunists.”
The party criticized opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, for allegedly failing to intervene in the political crisis in Rivers State. APC argued that their inaction allowed the situation to escalate into a serious threat to public safety and national assets.
Dismissing their responses as “lengthy, convoluted, and meaningless,” the ruling party accused them of merely seeking media attention and fueling political tension.
