The Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Dr. Obinna Anyanwu, DSSRS on Thursday inaugurated the newly reconstructed Multipurpose Town Hall building in Umuechem community.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Anyanwu said the town hall project stood as testament to his administration’s commitment to infrastructural development of the area.
He asserted that the projects aligned with the objectives of his administration to bring development to all the nooks and crannies of the area.
Anyanwu thanked the leadership of Umuechem community for their support in seeing to the completion of the project.
Inaugurating the project, The Caretaker Committee Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, described Obinna Anyanwu as a product of the former governor of Rivers state, and Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike who he said is commissioning numerous of projects across the FCT.
Tony Okocha commended the Etche council chairman for providing good governance to his people through projects delivery and impactful policies.
According to him, the council chairman has shown good leadership qualities and encouraging performance.
Member representing Etche constituency 2 at the Rivers state House of Assembly, Hon. Chimezie Nwankwo, commended Obinna Anyanwu for providing a befitting project to the people of the oil rich community.
He described the Etche chairman as a record holder who has delivered projects across the nineteen political wards in the area.
The PDP caretaker chairman in Etche Local Government Area, Hon. Reginald Onwuka said the people of Umuechem will remain grateful to the chairman for siting the first ever local government project in their community.
Onwuka noted that Dr. Anyanwu will be remembered for his contributions towards the development of the people of Etche.
The event was well attended by leaders, traditional ruler and chiefs, women and youth groups of Umuechem community.
