Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has been remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre following her arraignment over alleged cyber-related offences.
Okorie was arrested on Tuesday in Lagos by operatives of the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID). The Lagos State Police Command confirmed that she was subsequently handed over to the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC) in Abuja.
Abimbola Adebisi, spokesperson of the Lagos police, said the actress was taken into custody by the NPF-NCCC as part of ongoing investigations.
Filmmaker Ajemba Stanley also confirmed that Okorie was arraigned in court on Wednesday, after which she was ordered to be remanded in prison pending further proceedings.
