The Anambra State Police command says 22 persons lost their lives in the stampede that occurred in Okija, Anambra State during the sharing of Palliatives.
spokesperson of the command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed this in a statement.
He said the state commissioner Police visited the hospital were victims are being treated and discovered that 22 persons lost their lives.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam visited the hospital where the victims of the tragic stampede that occurred on 21/12/2024 in Okija, Ihiala local government area are receiving treatment and regrettably observed that 22 people lost their lives,” he said.
He also disclosed that investigation into the incident was ongoing.
