Factional Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Martin Amaewhule has described the presentation of the 2025 Appropriation Bill to the Oko Jumbo-led assembly by Gov. Sim Fubara as an affront to the constitution and the rule of law.
Speaking, during a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Amaewhule berated the state governor, accusing him of going against court orders and the constitution.
He maintained that he remains the authentic speaker of the state Assembly recognized by law, noting that the issue of speakership has been decided by the Court of Appeal.
“The issue of speakership and membership of the Rivers State House of Assembly is a decided matter by the Court of Appeal at different times, and in all, the court stated emphatically that there has been no other Assembly known to law than the Assembly led by me”, he said.
