ABUJA — Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, on Thursday intensified his criticism of key figures in the newly formed opposition coalition, targeting former Transportation Minister Chibuike Amaechi and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Speaking during the commissioning of the Aguma Palace–Radio Nigeria–New Market Road in Abuja, Wike declared that Amaechi “will never return to power,” accusing the former Rivers State governor of plunging the country into debt during his tenure as Minister of Transportation.
He also took aim at Atiku, challenging both men and other opposition leaders to present their performance records to Nigerians.
Wike’s remarks come amid heightened political tensions following the formation of a new opposition alliance, which seeks to challenge the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
