Former Minister of Transportation and ex-Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, on Tuesday visited former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, at his Abuja residence in a show of solidarity amid reports of an attempted arrest by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Amaechi met privately with El-Rufai during the visit and expressed concern over the development, criticizing what he described as the use of security agencies in politically sensitive situations.
Sources familiar with the meeting said Amaechi condemned the reported move to arrest the former governor, stressing that democratic norms and due process must be respected at all times. He warned against actions that could be interpreted as intimidation of political actors.
