Former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has strongly criticised the administration of Bola Tinubu following a series of deadly explosions in Maiduguri.
The attacks, which occurred on Monday night, claimed at least 23 lives and left more than 100 people injured. The explosions were reported at a busy market, near the gate of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, and around the Post Office flyover in the city.
In a statement released Tuesday through his media office, Amaechi condemned the government’s handling of security, accusing it of repeatedly failing to safeguard the lives and property of citizens. He argued that the situation reflects a broader breakdown in the country’s security framework.
