Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi has announced the resumption of rail transportation services from Wednesday July 29, 2020.
The minister disclosed this on Saturday during a test run on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line.
He announced new fares for the economy and executive classes, stating that it is not aimed at making money but to keep the sector functional. Trips between Abuja and Kaduna will now cost three thousand naira while that of the executive class is six thousand naira, he said.
The rail transportation have been shutdown for over three months now due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
