Former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has revealed that over 20,000 workers were employed for the construction of Lagos-Ibadan rail line.
The minister made the revelation at a public hearing on Monday in Abuja. This was in response to the claims by the the House of Representatives Committee on Treaties, Protocols and Agreements that local content was not duly observed in the course of the rail line construction
“There are over 20,000 Nigerian workers employed for the construction of the Lagos-Ibadan railway project, only 560 of the workers on that project are Chinese,” Amaechi, said.
