Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has expressed doubt over reports that Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai allegedly hacked the phone of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu.
Amaechi in a statement stated that El-Rufai “doesn’t have the capacity to do so,” adding that it is the NSA’s office that monitors communications.
Amaechi further accused Ribadu of being preoccupied with arrests and political manoeuvring. “He’s planning double elections—one for himself in 2031 and another for Bola TinubuBola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election,” he claimed.
According to Amaechi, Ribadu is allegedly working to set up parties to oppose the African Democratic Congress (ADC)African Democratic Congress, including creating a “fake ADC.”
He added that Ribadu has multiple ADC-related cases in court and has allegedly attempted to influence outcomes through financial incentives.
Amaechi concluded by urging Ribadu to focus on his security duties, stating, “If he thinks that there won’t be proper elections in 2027, he’s wasting his time. The man needs to rest,” he said.
