The Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has called on the people of Rivers State, to embrace the chance of the upcoming electioneering processes, as it presents them the opportunity to change the “ugly narration” of the past six years in the state.
Amaechi, who disclosed this in his New Year’s message, commended women and youths of the state for being the engine room that has kept the party afloat, against all odds.
He also listed some of the achievements of the APC-led Federal Government in Rivers State.
His statement reads,
With every new year comes a clean slate and we thank God Almighty for the privilege to enter into 2022.
My dear brothers, mothers, sisters and friends we salute you. We salute your steadfastness and urge you to focus on the wonderful opportunities that this new year will bring. For our people in Rivers state, we remind you of some of the opportunities courtesy of the Federal Government of Nigeria that would engage you to create a chance to eck meaningful living within the boundaries of Rivers state. A few of these projects are:
Commencement of the Bonny deep seaport project;Construction of 120billion naira Bonny-Bodo road; Ongoing implementation of the UNEP Report; Attracting the Naval War College to Ubima, Rivers State;Commencement of the Transportation University at Ubima;Training of professional Seafarers by NIMASA; alot are Rivers youths;Birthing of the biggest ship in Nigeria at Onne Port; Completion of the abandoned Port Harcourt international airport;Flagged off the PHC-Maiduguri rail project; Construction of additional 240MW power plant in Afam worth US$186million;Remission of #78billion naira money spent on federal roads to Rivers state.
Our women and Youths are part of the engine room that has kept our party afloat in the state. Words will never be enough to praise their resilient spirit. This is in the face of obvious conscious but conscienceless misplacement of priorities despite abundant resources available in the state.
We hope that the people of the state will embrace the chance of the upcoming electioneering processes as it presents us with the chance to change the ugly narrative of the past 6yrs.
