Former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi has dismissed reports that he once said, the Federal government has for some years now, been printing money.
Reports of Amaechi claiming that the government has been printing money, is curtently been circulated on social media.
But the Minister, in a statement by his media assistant, Taye Edeni denied the report, describing it as false claims to gain cheap publicity.
Amaechi said he has never been in charge of any financial institution in the country, and that makes him not qualify to talk about such matters.
“I advise Nigerians who wants information on printing of money to find out from the appropriate agency and not circulate false statement to gain cheap publicity,” he said.
“I have never head any financial institution in the country and therefore did not qualify as an authority in the issues that concerns printing of money into the economy,” he added.
