The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, for his silence over the alleged attack on former governor Chibuike Amaechi.
The party also called for the arrest and prosecution of the Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Charles Wobodo, following the burning of its office in Ubima and the alleged assault on its members last Friday.
Rivers State ADC Chairman, Leader Sampson, said comments made by Wobodo after the incident suggest he may have been linked to the attack, urging security agencies to investigate the matter and prosecute anyone found culpable.
Meanwhile, the ADC Chairman in Ikwerre, Temple Chinedu, alleged that the council chairman had earlier threatened members of the party before the incident occurred, an allegation Wobodo has denied.
