The Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board has vowed to investigate allegation by some new mothers that some state primary health care centres in Obio Akpor Local Government Area are collecting money for syringes before immunising their children.
The Rivers State Immunisation Officer, Joseph Urang, disclosed this in a chat with journalists in Port Harcourt Today.
According to him, the state has not encountered any shortages of vaccines or syringes.
He noted that any official found wanting would be dealt with.
As you may know, some new mothers had accused some nurses of collecting money for syringe from them before immunizing their children.
