The Nigeria Labour Congress has threatened to carry out its threats should any states fail to implement the new minimum wage before the December 1 deadline.
NLC spokesperson, Benson Upah, made this known in a statement at the weekend.
According to him, nothing has changed as per the directive despite the majority of the states implementing the new minimum wage.
He stated that majority is not everybody as all states must heed the union’s directive or face the consequences.
As you may know, the union ordered its members to embark on an indefinite strike in states where the new minimum wage is yet to be implemented before the deadline.
This was few months after President Bola Tinubu signed the minimum wage bill into law on July 29, from N30,000 to N70,000.
