President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening national security, announcing the rescue of dozens of abducted Nigerians in recent days.
In a statement on Sunday, the President noted that he cancelled his planned trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally coordinate security operations across the country.
According to him, security agencies successfully rescued all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State. He added that 51 of the students kidnapped from a Catholic school in Niger State have also been recovered.
Tinubu said he is “closely monitoring the security situation nationwide” and receiving continuous updates from troops and other frontline operatives.
“Let me be clear: I will not relent. Every Nigerian, in every state, has the right to safety — and under my watch, we will secure this nation and protect our people,” the President stated.
Tinubu reiterated that his administration will continue to intensify efforts to ensure the safe return of all remaining victims and guarantee long-term security across the country.
