The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Rivers State chapter, has formally endorsed President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election.
The endorsement was made during a crucial ALGON meeting on Monday in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area. The motion, moved by the Chairman of Emohua LGA, Hon. Sir (Dr.) Chidi Julius Lloyd, was seconded by the Chairman of Khana LGA, Dr. Thomas Bariere.
Presiding over the session, the ALGON Chairman and Mayor of Port Harcourt City LGA, Sir Hon. Allwell Ihunda, put the motion to a vote, after which all 23 LGA chairmen, along with their vice chairmen and councillors, unanimously expressed their support for President Tinubu’s 2027 bid.
The endorsement, issued on December 8, 2025, was followed by congratulatory messages to the President.
