Hon. Peter Akpe has been sworn in as the new Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State following a formal ceremony at the Government House in Yenagoa.
The oath of office was administered by the Chief Judge of the state, Matilda Abrakasa Ayemieye, at the Executive Chamber in line with constitutional provisions.
Akpe takes over from the late former Deputy Governor, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, who reportedly slumped in his office a few months ago.
Prior to his appointment, Akpe served as Chief of Staff to the Governor. He hails from Ebedebiri Federated Community in Sagbama Local Government Area of the state
