Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has disclosed that airline operators are considering appointing Ms. Comfort Emmanson, the Ibom Air passenger recently released from prison, as an ambassador for good passenger conduct.
Speaking on the matter, Keyamo said the initiative is aimed at promoting positive behavior among air travelers and encouraging passengers to adhere to airline rules and regulations. He explained that Ms. Emmanson’s recent experience could serve as a learning opportunity for others, emphasizing the importance of patience, cooperation, and civility while traveling.
The minister noted that airline operators are in discussions about how best to formalize the role, which could involve public awareness campaigns, workshops, and engagement programs designed to improve overall passenger conduct. Keyamo added that the proposal reflects the industry’s commitment to fostering a culture of respect and responsibility among travelers, ensuring a safer and more pleasant experience for everyone.
