The Chief Security Officer to the Sole Administrator of Ahoada-East Local Government Area, Rivers State, Hector Ekakita, has denied allegations linking him to a recent attack on his principal, Goodluck Iheanachor.
Ekakita made the denial during an appearance on The Morning Brief, a programme aired on Channels Television, on Monday.
Responding to claims of his involvement, Ekakita said, “I, as the chief security officer, how would I do that? How would I venture into carrying hoodlums to go and attack the man I’m working with? I was never found in the video.”
He explained that he was in his office at the time of the incident and only became aware when he heard noise coming from the premises. Upon trying to intervene, he said he was instructed not to interfere.
“When I heard the noise of the political appointees that the sole administrator did not pay for the month of May, I barged in. I was asked to shut the door, that it was between him and those political appointees,” he said.
Ekakita maintained that he neither filmed the incident nor mobilised anyone to assault the administrator, questioning the basis for linking him and the chief of staff to the attack.
