The Executive Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, Hon. Iyekor Ikporo, has approved the immediate enrollment of 1,300 households into the Conditional Cash Transfer Scheme as part of the council’s ongoing commitment to economic upliftment and poverty alleviation.
Esedi Joe David- Chief Press Secretary of the council disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
According to him, the scheme, implemented under the Ahoada West Initiative for Economic Empowerment (AWIEE), will initially benefit 100 households from each of the 12 wards within Ahoada West, with an additional 100 households from the non-indigene community.
He stated that to ensure transparency and accountability, eligibility is regulated to include only residents with valid voter registration cards.
He advised community members seeking more information to contact their respective ward councillors to participate in, and benefit from the initiative.
