The Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA) has re-emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment in Port Harcourt.
Acting Sole Administrator of RIWAMA, Hon. Prince Obi Ohia made this call during an event in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
Ohia urged residents to refrain from dumping refuse at unauthorized locations, instead of using government-designated receptacles.
He also reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to enforcing the environmental laws of the state, noting that dumping time is from 6-10 pm. daily.
The RIWAMA boss expressed his vision to make Port Harcourt one of the cleanest cities in Nigeria, appealing for residents’ cooperation and partnership.
He attributed the agency’s recent successes to teamwork and called on media houses to support RIWAMA’s efforts.
