Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has brushed aside concerns over Morocco’s home support, insisting there is no pressure on Nigeria ahead of their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) semi-final clash.
Nigeria will take on tournament hosts Morocco on Wednesday for a place in the final of the 2025 AFCON, with kickoff scheduled for 9:00 pm Nigerian time.
Morocco, who are hosting the competition, will enjoy strong home backing when the match is played at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, a venue with a seating capacity of nearly 70,000. The majority of the crowd is expected to be made up of Moroccan supporters.
However, Osimhen played down the significance of the anticipated hostile atmosphere, noting that the Super Eagles are well accustomed to playing in front of large crowds.
According to the Napoli forward, the team has previously featured in matches attended by as many as 90,000 fans, stressing that such environments do not intimidate the players.
Osimhen added that the focus of the Super Eagles remains on executing their game plan and securing a spot in the AFCON final, regardless of the venue or crowd support.
