Legal practitioner Deji Adeyanju has announced that a petition has been filed before the Attorney General of the State of Florida against former Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike.
Adeyanju said the petition was filed on the instruction of activist and publisher, Omoyele Sowore, and concerns properties allegedly acquired unlawfully in Florida by Wike, who also holds the national honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
According to him, calls on Florida authorities to forfeit the identified properties, prosecute those involved in the transactions, and impose a visa ban on Wike.
Adeyanju explained that the step reflects Sowore’s commitment to accountability and the fight against corruption.
