Prominent activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has softened his stance on the recent reconciliation between Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Friday, Adeyanju acknowledged that he may have been wrong in his earlier skepticism about the durability of the peace deal between the two political figures.
“I might be wrong this time about Wike. I hope the peace lasts,” he wrote, adding that his previous comments were not personal but merely opinions on national issues.
The lawyer, who had earlier described the agreement as fragile, expressed goodwill toward the renewed alliance, referring to it as a “new godfather-godson relationship.”
