The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has dismissed reports alleging that its National Chairman, David Mark, has resigned from his position, describing the claims as false and malicious.
In a statement issued by the Media Office of the National Chairman, the party condemned the report as “an insidious fabrication” orchestrated by what it called “puerile, weak, and inconsiderate propagandists.”
The ADC firmly stated that Senator Mark remains the substantive National Chairman, stressing that neither he nor the party’s leadership has considered any resignation.
“The assertion that Senator David Mark has stepped down exists only in the warped imagination of those bent on spreading falsehood and creating confusion within our party,” the statement said.
The party further reaffirmed that its leadership remains united, focused, and committed to strengthening democratic values while providing credible leadership to Nigerians.
It also warned against attempts to destabilize the party, attributing such moves to growing concerns over the ADC’s rising influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are unbending in their collective determination to resist any plot aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or imposing a one-party system,” the statement added.
The party urged Nigerians to disregard the rumours and remain confident in its leadership and stability.
