PORT HARCOURT – Dr. Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, the suspended Rivers State Commissioner for Health, has firmly denied allegations that she was involved in disrupting the First Lady’s empowerment programme held on Friday, May 2, 2025.
In a strongly worded statement released on Thursday, Dr. Oreh described the accusations as “entirely unfounded” and the product of “rumour mongers and conflict entrepreneurs.” She challenged the group allegedly behind the claims, the “Concerned Rivers Youth Organisation,” to produce evidence, questioning the very existence of the group.
“I have neither sponsored nor will sponsor any activities aimed at embarrassing or disrupting the administration appointed by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR,” Oreh stated, referencing the federal intervention in Rivers State following the declaration of a state of emergency on March 18.
Dr. Oreh emphasized her focus on academic and professional commitments during her suspension and reaffirmed her dedication to the progress and development of Rivers State. She called for a shift toward fact-based dialogue and urged stakeholders to promote integrity and unity during what she described as a “delicate time” for the state.
The former commissioner concluded with a call for truth, transparency, and collective effort in public discourse.
