Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has cancelled the N15,000 “pandemic prevention fee”, the management of Abia State University had asked students to pay upon resumption of academic activities.
Governor Ikpeazu during a meeting with some students and management of the institution yesterday, ordered the outright cancellation of the fee.
He went ahead to announce the payment of N30,000 as pocket money to all Abia students in the institution.
The school had in a statement few days ago asked all students to pay the sum of fifteen thousand naira as “pandemic prevention fee” and also made it a criteria for them to be qualified for the forthcoming examination.
