A lecturer at the University of Port Harcourt, Dr. Jones Ayuwo who was kidnapped few weeks ago by unknown gunmen has regained freedom.
Dr Ayuwo was whisked away about three weeks ago, while on his way to Ogoni, after a Bible translation meeting at Andoni.
Spokesperson of the state Police command, Nnamdi Omoni who disclosed this in a statement today, said Dr Jones was abandoned by his abductors, when they realized that the Police was closing in on them.
He said no ransom was paid as the command did everything within its power to ensure his release.
Omoni also stated that the command is doing everything humanly possible to ensure the release of the monarch of Ikuru town.
This was after stakeholders in the state, had pleaded with his abductors to release him unconditionally.
