The Rumuorlumeni chapter of the Ogbakor Security and Peace Advisory Committee (OSPAC) has arrested three suspected cultists following a security operation around Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rivers State.

According to reports, OSPAC operatives intercepted the suspects after they were allegedly seen firing sporadically in the vicinity of the university, causing panic among residents and students.

The suspects reportedly attempted to escape into nearby creeks during a pursuit but were eventually apprehended by the Rumuorlumeni OSPAC team led by Comrade Kenneth Orlumeni.

Two rifles were recovered during the operation. The suspects have since been handed over to the Department of State Services (DSS) for further investigation.

The institution is yet to react to the incident as at press time.
