Former factional chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Hon. Nnam Ewor, has alleged that Governor Siminalayi Fubara is running the affairs of the state without a valid budget, describing the situation as unconstitutional and dangerous for governance.
Ewor made the allegation during a thank-you visit by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, to Ahoada East Local Government Area.
He claimed that Rivers State does not have a legally approved budget for 2026, insisting that any expenditure being made by the current administration is illegal.
“Government is structured into three arms, and they must work together. No governor can function effectively without the legislature. As we speak, Rivers State has no budget, and any spending by the Fubara administration is illegal,” Ewor said.
The former PDP chieftain, who until recently was a strong ally of Governor Fubara, accused the governor of failing to tell his supporters the truth about the state of governance. He described Wike as a true leader and a unifier, saying the former governor has the interest of Rivers people at heart.
Ewor also pledged his support and loyalty to Wike, commending him for ensuring the appointment of people from Ahoada into positions of trust at both the state and federal levels.
The comments formed part of speeches by political leaders and supporters during the visit, which was marked by renewed declarations of allegiance to the FCT Minister.
