The Presidency has debunked a report by Sahara Reporters alleging that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to travel to the United States on Tuesday for a meeting with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Affairs, Tope Ajayi, dismissed the publication as “fake news,” warning that it had already fuelled several “uninformed commentaries” across the public space.
Ajayi stressed that any official visit by President Tinubu to Washington would not be for a meeting with a Vice President, further cautioning the public against spreading unverified information.
