The Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Hon. Chima Boniface Njoku, has assured that every ward in the area will benefit from the developmental projects and people-oriented initiatives of his administration.
Hon. Njoku gave the assurance on Saturday during the flag-off of the Rural Electrification Project at Ojia, Ozuzu, describing the initiative as a “thank you gift” to the people for their overwhelming support and votes during the last council elections.
He announced that the Phase One Electrification Project for Ozuzu/Elele Ward 12 is expected to be completed by December 1, warning that the contract would be revoked if the contractor fails to deliver within the stipulated timeframe.
According to the council chairman, the project will be extended to Ward 2 and Ward 19 in Ozuzu Clan and completed before the end of the first quarter of 2026. He pledged that Etche LGA would witness “unprecedented growth and transformation” under his leadership as he works to change the negative narrative and restore pride to the Etche people.
Hon. Njoku also urged residents of Ozuzu/Elele to participate actively in the ongoing INEC voter registration exercise and ensure they obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as part of their civic responsibility.
Speaking at the event, APC Leader in Etche LGA, Chief Hon. Ephraim Nwuzi, commended the council chairman for his remarkable start in office, noting that he has already demonstrated capacity and commitment to service delivery.
The Member representing Etche Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Chimezie Nwankwo, described the project as a “legacy initiative” that will leave a lasting impact. He urged the chairman to replicate similar developmental efforts across Etche and pledged his full support to the administration.
In his goodwill message, Barr. Chioma Choko, who represented the Senator for Rivers East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Allwell Onyesoh, applauded Hon. Njoku’s dedication and leadership, promising continued support for his administration, particularly in the fight against land grabbing in Etche.
Also speaking, APC Leader in Ozuzu/Elele Ward 12, Hon. Adindu Amadi, said the electrification project has engraved the chairman’s name in gold.
Similarly, the Former Vice Chairman of Etche LGA, Hon. Dr. Uche Ken-Ndukwu, noted that the project will boost economic activities and improve livelihoods, especially for women and youths in the area.
