The Federal Government has warned the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) that it may invoke the no-work-no-pay policy if the union proceeds with its planned industrial action.
The warning came on Sunday night, amid growing tensions following ASUU’s announcement of a two-week warning strike scheduled to begin on Monday.
The Government reportedly expressed concern that another disruption of academic activities would negatively affect students and the university calendar, insisting that the union’s grievances should be addressed through dialogue rather than strikes.
ASUU had earlier accused the government of failing to meet several of its long-standing demands, including issues related to funding, salaries, and university autonomy.
