Former spokesperson of the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Kenneth Okonkwo, has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has effectively handed its 2027 presidential ticket to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Okonkwo, speaking on Channels Television’s breakfast programme on Friday, claimed that Wike has continued to impose his influence on the party despite his history of opposing its interests.
“You were there when Wike said he would be supporting the presidential candidate of another political party. He has told you that whatever he says is law, and that anything or anybody that goes against him would face fire,” Okonkwo said.
He warned that Wike’s growing control signals deeper internal challenges ahead of the 2027 elections.
