The above stated names are all Alumni of Rivers State University and were active volunteers of the school’s Radio/Media house Excelfm Radiostation.
The Radio Station is one of the best project of the school. I doubt if there is any station in Rivers State without one more Alumni of the station currently.
The station was 90% plus focused on theory.
All the different departments raised giants across different industries. There are those currently dominating Sports, News, Public Relations, Music and Movie Production, Comedy, MC, Photography, Videography and other fields of Media at various levels (State, National and international).
The above mentioned names are just a few within my knowledge that are making great impact on Global stages.
Prof, Sir. Isaac Zeb-obipi Isaac Zeb-obipi, I am one of the concerned Alumni of Rivers State University. I write because I believe you are a student focused leader, judging from my experience with you as a one time Departmental President while you were the Dean of students Affair as well as when I brought my book to you. I can attest that you are one that loves to see students Progress and become.
1. Sir, I recommend that the Radio Station be given the best support that it can get because it has proven to be a great investment judging from few results sited above.
2. Other practical areas like Agriculture and ICT should be given more attention (Practically) so their graduates will not get into the labour market unfortified.
Much respect to the likes of Dr. Iyakutye Jacob Nte and other lecturers who push their students to get into the field.
Most of the times when He calls, He asks me to organize Farms and feedmills where we can train his students on the real world of farming.
Though I recommend that more attention be paid to the school farm where they can easily access these equipment and acquire relevant and useable field knowledge not just a once in a while training while other farms become an add advantage.
