Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed former Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi’s chances of securing a presidential ticket under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the move as “dead on arrival.”
Speaking on Channels TV Politics Today Wike said Amaechi would be the least considered for a presidential ticket, recalling that the former transport minister once boasted he could defeat President Bola Tinubu because he knew his weaknesses. He wondered why Amaechi failed to stop Tinubu during the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary.
Wike further claimed that Amaechi lacked the political capacity to win, noting that he defeated him in 2014 when Amaechi served as Director-General of Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign, and again during his tenure as a federal minister.
The minister added that ahead of the 2027 elections, Amaechi would likely be among the first to allege rigging after sensing defeat.
