The Federal Government has announced a reward package for members of Nigeria’s national women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, following their recent international successes.
Each player will receive $100,000, a plot of land, and the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON). In addition, each coach of the team will be awarded $50,000 in recognition of their role in the team’s achievements.
The gesture is part of the government’s effort to celebrate and encourage excellence in sports.
