Former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye has publicly regretted backing the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 campaign that led to the removal of then-President Goodluck Jonathan.
Melaye, who recently resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the statement during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.
“I regret in totality, just like you, supporting the APC to kick Jonathan out. President Jonathan, I am sincerely sorry. Once I was blind, now I can see,” he said.
Melaye said his move to the ADC was driven by a desire to be part of a coalition aimed at unseating the current administration, which he accused of causing widespread hunger and economic hardship in the country. He emphasized that the coalition is composed of individuals committed to the welfare of Nigerians.
