Peter Obi Donates ₦25 Million, Lays Foundation for Boys’ Hostel at Dominican Sisters’ College
Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on Sunday attended the foundation laying and graduation ceremony of the Dominican Sisters’ College in Abatete, Anambra State, where he reaffirmed his commitment to education and development.
Speaking at the event, Obi announced a donation of ₦25 million to the institution and laid the foundation for a new boys’ hostel. He noted that his involvement with the school dates back to his tenure as governor, during which he constructed a girls’ hostel to provide a secure and conducive learning environment for female students.
Emphasizing the importance of education, Obi described it as the most productive investment any nation can make, stressing its role in poverty reduction, peacebuilding, and national development.
He called for continued support for educational and health institutions as well as poverty alleviation programmes to secure a sustainable future for Nigeria.
“A New Nigeria is possible,” he concluded.
