The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has suspended the nationwide strike it declared on Monday, following the intervention of the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Hon. Justice Kudirat Motunmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, and other key stakeholders.
In a statement released Tuesday, the union announced that its leadership reached the decision after extensive discussions with the CJN, Minister of Labour and Employment Muhammad Dingyadi, officials of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), and other relevant parties.
As part of the agreement, JUSUN said it would allow a one-month window for the Federal Government to release outstanding funds owed to the judiciary. They said the grace period was one of the resolutions reached during the dialogue facilitated by the CJN and supported by the Labour Ministry and union leaders.
